Ben Stiller is helping out a campaign to fly food and water to Somalian famine victims.

The Zoolander star has reached out to other celebrities after joining the campaign started by Vine and Snapchat star Jérôme Jarre.

The initial aim of Love Army For Somalia was to convince Turkish Airlines to transport aid to the African country, as it is currently the only airline that flies there.

And it has really caught on - the airline has agreed to fly 60 tonnes' worth of aid if the funds are raised, and the Stiller Foundation and others have got involved.

"Not only they are making available a full cargo flight that can fly 60 tonnes of food, but they agreed to let us ship food containers on their commercial aircraft to Somalia, until the end of the famine!" Jarre wrote on the Go Fund Me page.

"One airplane at a time - one shipment at a time! We are learning how to help now, starting with one point of impact. Right now, we've proved how much our power doesn't mean much individually, but has the potential to move mountains (AIRPLANES!!!) when we UNITE!"

High-profile celebrities including Calvin Harris have now donated to the effort, the DJ giving $25,000, and the total sought has been upped from $1 million to $2 million, with $1.8m raised at the time of writing.

Stiller has now nominated other celebrities to get involved in the campaign, saying in a video: "The idea is that every person who donated money, all of you 50,000 people, nominate three other friends to be a part of this.

"So, I'm going to nominate three people. Lewis Hamilton, Formula One champion, super cool dude. Emma Watson, because she cares about people - and she's also cool. And Cara Delevingne, because she's really, really ridiculously good looking and she also cares about what's going on."
