Auto Expo 2018: Renault, the French manufacturer now a part of Renault-Nissan group of companies, has quite the line up in store for the Auto Expo 2018. From a range of electric cars to concepts and even a brand new Formula One car. Renault will be looking to go for shock and awe in a pavilion that will also be displaying its mass-market offerings already on sale in the Indian market. Following the government’s push for full electrification of the Automobile in India by 2032, Renault will be looking to show the people that they too are not to be discounted from the contest in times to come. Here’s what we expect from Renault ahead of the Auto Expo 2018.
Renault Zoe at Auto Expo 2018
The most talked about exhibit as far as the Auto Expo 2018 will be the Renault Zoe. The electric hatch which has been a sweetheart of the Indian internet community will be a part of Renaults exhibition of their own EV prowess. The Zoey EV — as it is on sale in European markets — will be powered by a 41 kWh Battery and offers a rather astounding range of 400 kms, what’s even better is that Renault claims that that EV can be charged between 65-80 mins for a full range using Renault’s quick-charger. Now while Renault is yet to consider the model for Indian markets expect them to be gauging the response from visitors at the Auto Expo 2018, to finalize on when to bring the Zoe to India.
Renault Trezor at Auto Expo 2018
Divulging further into what is now being called the “connected” spectrum of the Automobile Renault will also be putting their Trezor Electric Autonomous car Concept up on a standee at the Auto Expo 2018. The Two-seater Electric Gran Tourer made its public debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, and is one of those things that is so futuristic that it borders on SCI-Fi, luckily, for Renault Trezor is far in the advanced stages of conceptualization and is more a show of their R&D than something we can expect on the streets in the near future. Either way, the fibreglass bodies Trezor leaves a lot to aspire too, the Formula E derived motor that powers it produces 350 hp of electric instantaneous power that can break the ton in less that can breach the 100 km mark in less than 8 seconds.
Renault Formula One at Auto Expo 2018
That aside Renault India will also be put their RS 1.7 2017 Formula One car up on a pedestal for display, this will be the car the Carlos Sainz Jr., Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen drove over the course of the 2017 Formula one season. It will be the same car and not some replica for the Auto Expo 2018, and that will surely be one of the centrepieces for the selfie crowd making their way to the Auto Expo 2018.
In addition, Renault will also be showcasing their existing range of cars on sale in India from the Kwid to Captur. While rumours that a Facelifted Duster is also in the fray, one will have to wait for the 2018 Auto Expo for that!
