One of the classic rivalries in college football history is set to write a new chapter on Saturday night in Norman, as the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys renew their Bedlam Series rivalry.

The rivalry between the two biggest schools in Oklahoma have met every year since 1904, with the series being rather one-sided with the dominance of the Sooners. OU has an all-time record of 90-19-7 against the Cowboys. However, OK State pulled an entertaining 37-33 affair in Stillwater, ending the Sooners’ six-game win streak in the series. The Cowboys’ previous win over Oklahoma came back in 2014, which stands as the last time OSU defeated the Sooners in Norman.

This year’s Cowboys have been solid this season, a little bit of a down year though compared to 2021. Yet, with a 4-3 record in Big 12 action thus far, OK State is in the running to make it back to the conference title game. They come into the weekend tied for second in the Big 12 with Kansas State, who they were embarrassed by a few weeks ago. They snapped the short two-game losing streak by holding off Iowa State at home last Saturday.

For this being their last season before moving over to the SEC, the Sooners 2022 campaign has been anything but a success. With a 2-5 record in conference play, the Sooners are currently ninth in the Big 12. To put that in perspective, OU’s worst finish in any conference they have ever played in was a pair of seventh-place finishes in the Missouri Valley Conference back in the 1920′s. The Sooners have lost consecutive games, falling to Baylor and West Virginia in back-to-back weeks.

MY PICK: Oklahoma State wins, 42-39
