Havana, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) At least two thousand 644 persons, among civilians and armed people, lost their lives in Syria during last March, reported human rights entities quoted by several press media.

According to the sources, these are the victims documented with names but the figure could be much higher as hundreds are reported missing, particularly in the coastal region, where mass murders were committed against members of the Alawite Muslim minority.

Of the total balance, there are some 500 armed persons and 2,699 civilians, which include 1,828 men, 144 women and 97 children.

The sources specified that 1,726 people, including 49 minors and 120 women, were executed in cold blood, particularly in the provinces of Tartous and Latakia. Likewise, 110 were killed by the explosion of munitions, especially mines, left over from the war in different regions of the country.

On the other hand, the continuous Israeli bombardments against Syrian territory left 10 people dead last month, while 12 others, including 8 children and 2 women, were killed in Turkish bombardments.

Violence and revenge crimes increased in Syria after the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s government last December, and the bloodiest days were March 6, 7 and 8, when Islamist groups committed mass killings, which were described as ethnic cleansing against the Alawite minority.
