Formula One has struck a new deal with Spa-Francorchamps to keep the Belgian Grand Prix for another three years.

On the eve of F1's first race in France for a decade, it was announced that the Belgian event would remain until 2021.

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is among the most renowned on the calendar, and has a long-standing history with the sport. Its contract was due to expire after this year's race in August.

"Formula One was born in Europe and the future of this sport needs to maintain its solid roots, while expanding globally," Chloe Targett-Adams, F1's director of promoters and business relations, said.

"Spa-Francorchamps is part of that fantastic history."
