Sergio Aguero started his international break with a trip to the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Manchester City forward travelled to Monza after featuring in the Blues’ 2-1 win against Newcastle on Saturday, as goals from Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker handed Pep Guardiola’ s side a third win from four Premier League games.

And the Argentine was straight off to Italy to take in the 14th race of the Formula One season.

Aguero was in the passenger seat for a test lap driven by former F1 driver Martin Brundle and met current drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

He posted a string of videos on Instagram detailing his day, as he got behind the scenes at the race.

It came at the beginning of City’s break from competition as the first international games of the season get under way.

The 31-year-old was not included in the Argentina squad for the national team’s games against Guatemala and Colombia.

Jorge Sampaoli was relieved of his duties as Argentina boss after a calamitous World Cup showing that saw the side captained by Lionel Messi scrape through their group before losing to eventual winners France in the round of 16.

And Aguero, along with City teammate Nicolás Otamendi, are two of a host of big names to be left out of the squad for next week’s games.
