Glenn Almack pledges support for Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Local businessman and philanthropist Glenn Almack is no stranger to charity.

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In his most recent show of generosity, Glenn Almack has made a sizable donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

A non-profit organization, the foundation is committed to preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer.

"The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a highly-rated philanthropic organization, one which is top rated and focuses on funding grants to cancer researchers," says Almack.

"They are targeting their funding to end this disease," he adds. "The foundation funds the best and brightest researchers in the world."

"Their 275 grantees come from all disciplines of science and are given the creativity and intellectual freedom to pursue the most promising research," Almack explains. "Each has an ultimate goal: to prevent and find a cure for breast cancer."

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation provides critical funding for research in an effort to fuel advances in diagnosis, treatment and successful prevention of breast cancer.

"My donation is in honor of my daughters and their mother, as I have experienced the personal impact of this disease among family members," adds Almack.

"I have a historic interest in cancer research," he continues, "based on researching and investing in biotech companies that focus on oncology solutions to end breast cancer as well as other forms of cancer."

Founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, the foundation has raised over half a billion dollars for lifesaving cancer research.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation provides grants to some of the world's brightest scientific minds, funding lifesaving research into all aspects of breast cancer in an effort to find a cure.

Speaking of the foundation, President and CEO Myra J. Biblowit says, "Our goal is to accelerate the breakthroughs bringing us closer to a cure to speed up the progress that will improve survivorship and quality of life for breast cancer patients today."

Adding to that sentiment, Glenn Almack continues, "If society funds these organizations and charities, cancer treatment and cure solutions will be accelerated and realized."

In 2017-2018, thanks to fundraising and donations from patrons like Almack, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is set to award almost £60 million in grants. These grants are issued to over 250 scientists from top medical institutions and universities around the globe.

"The end of cancer begins with you," says the foundation. "Until the number of deaths from breast cancer is zero, we will not stop. Join us, and help fuel the research of tomorrow needed to save lives today. Everyone can be part of the solution. We are all part of the cure."
